Coronavirus: County eyes cannabis cash for alternate housing sites
SALINAS — Monterey County’s plan to house COVID-19 patients who don’t need to be hospitalized and homeless who don’t test positive for the virus but are considered at risk in alternate care and housing sites is expected to cost about $3.5 million over the next few months. County officials are looking at tapping cannabis tax revenue to cover the cost until state and federal reimbursement is available, if it is.
