MONTEREY COUNTY - There’s still no telling how much tax revenue will end up in Monterey County coffers from the fledgling legalized cannabis industry given the range of state and local taxes and fees marijuana purveyors are facing and a fluctuating market with falling prices. But the county is sponsoring a series of community forums over the next two weeks to get public input on how any available cannabis tax should be spent after county government gets its cut that is.
SEASIDE - On its way to fully embracing legal marijuana, the city of Seaside has issued 12 permits for cannabis-related businesses within its borders — six dispensary permits, four for manufacturing, and two testing businesses — which would be the first cannabis-testing labs in Monterey County.
