As Executive Director, John, his firm and the Board of MCCIA have been developing an exciting strategy this year to raise awareness, funds, members and visibility of this great new association. The strategy includes a Legislative Day, where Board members will travel to Sacramento to meet with not only our local legislators, but those active in the cannabis industry, as well as representatives from CalCannabis in order to establish MCCIA as the voice of Monterey County cannabis in Sacramento. Additionally, MCCIA will begin a quarterly speaker series, inviting high-profile individuals in the cannabis sphere to share their knowledge, as well as familiarize them with our Board and members. These events will be featured at entertaining venues, with food and drink for members as well as those interested in becoming a member/sponsor. Lastly, John and the Board are working on hosting a MCCIA sponsored cannabis conference in Monterey as our “flagship” annual event bringing members, sponsors and interested parties from all over the State and Country.
